Love Navan Action Teams - Sign Up Now

To say that we’ve been surprised by the level of interest and support that Love Navan has received

since we first came together would be an understatement but we shouldn’t have been. Navan is a
great town full of amazing people and with a long history of strong community engagement. This is
what drove us to begin the Love Navan initiative and we really need you to come on board to bring
it to the next level.

If you were at the meeting in the community centre you will remember the energy and enthusiasm that
was present. We were flooded with ideas for initiatives to make our town better. We had suggestions
for festivals, events, infrastructure development, community facilities, environmental initiatives and so
much more. So many ideas: large and small, new and old, ambitious and simple. How do we even
start making some of these awesome dreams come true?

That’s where you come in.

Our town is almost 850 years old so we’re committed to looking long term to develop this town into a home we and our children can continue to be proud of for generations to come. Love Navan’s goal is to act a little like oil for the communities engine. We want to bring like minded people together to work on initiatives they care about that will improve our town. We have no political affiliation. We are not interested in blaming others for what might or mightn’t have happened before. We are looking to the future of Navan. A future that is vibrant, bright and exciting. A future that starts today.

We’re excited to invite you to join one of the Love Navan Actions Teams!

What’s an Action Team? - We’re glad you asked.

Action teams are working groups or committees who will work together on Love Navan projects to improve our town. The Action Teams will be guided and supported by the Love Navan committee but will have the opportunity to develop the projects in their own way using their own experience and passions to make it a real community owned project.

We’re going to create Love Navan Action Teams for each area of focus for the Love Navan initiative. Some Action Teams will be based around a short singular project and others might be constantly evolving. We’re going to start with five initial Action Teams  and we will add and subtract them as we gain momentum.

At the end of this email will be a link to sign up to one or more of the Action Teams. Once you do that Love Navan will reach out to everybody who has signed up with the next step to get that Action Team working. We are so excited to start!!

So a brief outline of the first five Actions Teams:

Love Navan Identity Team

This could also be called a brand team. This team will be responsible for developing ideas to make Love Navan a real and tangible spirit in our community. Think of flags along the river, banners on buildings, face paint on sports teams, murals, loyalty cards, stickers in shop windows, social media, websites and anything else you can think of. This team will capture the essence of our town and what it means to love it and make sure that everybody that visits or passes through Navan gets a feel for who we are. Sign Up!

Sustainable Navan Team

Navan was founded almost 850 years ago and we want to make sure it continues to thrive for centuries. The sustainable Navan will focus on our town and its citizens, health and future. Think zero waste initiatives, cycle ways, walk to school/work schemes, herb boxes on the street, sustainable businesses, promoting local food producers etc etc. This team is focused on making Navan the healthiest, most sustainable place to live in Ireland. Love Navan Digital Infrastructure Team

For the most part the Love Navan initiative has been built on social media accounts and basic website. In order to develop into a community-wide initiative that will become a central hub for all activity and initiatives for Navan. Think website, event listing, project management, news feeds, micro sites etc. We need to build a robust yet easy to manage digital infrastructure to support the hugely ambitious ideas that you’ve given us. If you have design, crm, coding, project management experience then maybe this is the team for you. Sign Up!

Love Navan Events Team

Many of the ideas that have been suggested to us are events. Should Navan have a big annual weeklong festival during the summer? Should we make more of Halloween, Christmas, our industrial heritage. What does a truly iconic Navan event look like? What could draw people to the town from all over the country? What would make sure that everybody from the town wants to make sure they’re around for every year? We don’t know but we’d love to find out. The Event Team will be focussed on picking 2 or 3 Love Navan events and building them from scratch to be key parts of our town’s life. Sound like fun? Sign Up!

Love Navan Ambassadors

Social media is great but social interactions are better. Navan is a big town with

hundreds of clubs, groups, businesses etc. We need a team of ambassadors who will focus on certain groups of people and keep an open dialogue between Love Navan and every part of the community. Think sports teams, migrant communities, primary schools, small businesses, digital communities non profits, new Navanites etc. This team will be the glue that keeps our whole community together.
